You must be self-motivated and be able to work both independently and in a team. You must be a practical thinker and be able to problem solve at short notice. You will be working along side of the current Works Manager and be responsible for the overall management of the yard and all labouring staff. Some of the duties will include organising the lorries within the yard, the weighing of the vehicles and materials to be shipped, completing relevant paperwork, managing staff and subcontractors, ensuring the efficient working of the site and machinery, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety and Environment agency guidelines.

An ideal candidate will have a positive and persuasive attitude towards the staff and customers including the general public, be enthusiastic, tenacious and persistent, with the ability to meet deadlines, resolve problems and manage people.

The hours are long and this is certainly not a job for the faint hearted or a candidate who is not dedicated.
