POSITION SUMMARY
The successful candidate’s primary function will be the root cause analysis on RIM handhelds and electronic accessories. They will be expected to perform this down to component level. Follow up with component vendors and design engineering teams will be required when writing detailed reports. Additional responsibilities will include maintenance of test equipment and test fixtures used within the reliability group, they will also be required to enhance equipment performance and availability through investigation and continuous improvement projects. Identify potential issues with lab procedures and processes and then recommend possible solutions. Provide technical support to reliability team members

Qualifications
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Electronic Engineering Technologist/Technician or related diploma Telecommunications preferred
• 5+ years extensive experience with electronic and RF measurements and measurement equipment
• 5+ years experience analyzing and repairing RF or consumer electronic devices
• Analytical and Presentation Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Highly adaptable and comfortable working in a team-oriented environment

ADDITIONAL ASSETS
• Experience working with or analyzing subs systems such as LCD's, acoustics and or plastics
• Knowledge of semiconductor and component manufacture
• Test system design
• Project Management
• Knowledge of the 7 steps to problem solving
• Outgoing, approachable and friendly with a sense of humour
