Job Description:
Kalyx has a long-term Home Office Contract to manage HMP Forest Bank in Salford, which holds 1160 adult males. Due to our expansion programme we are scheduled to become one of the largest local prisons in the country. We Offer job Opportunities for you to help us serve our community by:

We have opportunities throughout the year to join our organisation as a Prison Custody Officer. To work with male prisoners in a secure environment which focuses on meeting their immediate & resettlement needs. This will require the PCO to have a sound understanding of how the needs of men in custody can best be met within the context of a secure facility. You will receive 9 weeks professional training initially and then on-going development along with the chance to work in different departments during your career.
Main Duties:
- Provide a quality of service that is of high standard, professional and courteous.
- Provide support and encouragement for Prisoners to address resettlement needs.
- Work to and maintain all systems and procedures relevant to ensuring the effective operation of the Prison.
- Work to and Respond to all Contingency Plans required for the maintenance of Security and Control.
- Work within and operate all Security Systems.
- Work under direct supervision of SPCO/Duty Officer.
- Participate in training as required in order to keep up to date with all mandatory and refresher training.
- Undertake personal officer duties as required.
- Undertake duties as required that will contribute to the effective operation of HMP Forest Bank.
Essential requirements:
- Effective interpersonal skills, including problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Effective written & verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of issues affecting prisoners in custody.
- Understanding of diversity issues & commitment to equality of opportunity.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
