Job Description:

Kalyx has a long-term Home Office Contract to manage HMP Forest Bank in Salford, which holds 1160 adult males. Due to our expansion programme we are scheduled to become one of the largest local prisons in the country. We Offer job Opportunities for you to help us serve our community by:

A vacancy has arisen within the CARAT’s team, applications are invited from dynamic, innovative and motivated individuals to join the existing team.

The job is to provide ongoing case management and support for drug dependant prisoners whilst in custody and facilitate effective treatment and through care with both Healthcare and Drug services within the prison. A summary of the job and the skills required is given below:

Key aspects of the post

  • To have lead case management responsibility for substance dependent prisoners
  • To undertake initial assessments, and assist in the development of integrated care plans for drug dependent prisoners
  • To maintain and develop links with other departments and service providers
  • To assist in the administration and development of the DIP process
  • To facilitate coordination of care in line with DIP
  • To facilitate and develop the existing CARAT and through care process
  • To contribute to the wider resettlement and through care agenda
  • To contribute to the development of the prisons current drug strategy
  • To facilitate in the development and delivery of drug related programmes
  • Help develop CARAT and drug services in line with Government, Prison and NHS national & local policy and guidelines

You will have

  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • Vocational competencies in particular around substance dependency
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to use initiative and work autonomously
  • Ability to work as part of the existing CARAT team
