We are offering a first class opportunity to work as part of a landmark, large scale assessment and development project in Abu Dhabi. This would be an ideal position for someone to pursue a career in both assessment and management development and will include a free in-house intensive course to BPS Level A& B prior to deployment.

Inspirational Development Group (IDG) and Olive Group plc (Olive) have been engaged to design and deliver an assessment and development centre for over 2,500 members of the Abu Dhabi Civil Service (ADCS).

The ADCS has made, and is continuing to make, significant investment in the development of managers and manager candidates as part of a wider programme to develop the human resource capability of both the civil service and the nation as a whole.

The assessment process will take place over a five day period in a training camp facility and involve 50 civil servants each week. The objective of the assessment week is to obtain both quantitative and qualitative data about their existing performance levels and provide them with an opportunity to start their personal development by supplying individual feedback on their own leadership behaviour and performance.

We are looking to recruit a team to provide this assessment and management development for an initial minimum12-month period starting on November 2nd 2008. Opportunities will exist for contract extensions or similar opportunities within the Group.

Successful applicants will receive the following:

· A generous tax-free salary with completion bonus

This will consist of own room in deluxe shared villa in Al Ain (15 minutes from the Assessment Centre) with excellent facilities including caterers, satellite TV, broadband, pool, tennis courts, gym, maid and villa staff services and transport. (90 minutes from Abu Dhabi or Dubai)

· Full training to British Psychological Society (BPS) Level A and Level B. To be taken , at our expense, over an intensive 3 week period commencing 22nd September at our facilities at Royal Military College Sandhurst, Surrey. Free board and travel

· Full training in IDG's Assessment Approach

· Seven weeks' holiday per annum.

· Full healthcare and insurance.

· Five day week Sunday - Thursday.

Requirements:

· Demonstration of assessment / training /leadership delivery experience.

· Computer literate.

· Good communication and presentation skills. Individual participant assessment reports will be produced weekly and delivered individually.

· Immediate availability.

· Physically fit with valid passport.

· Experience of working in the Middle East would be considered an advantage.

· Personal maturity and proven ability to work in a team.

Abu Dhabi Civil Service Leadership Assessment Programme FAQ’s for Assessors

What will I get paid? - £36,000 Tax Free + Completion bonus

What holiday will I get? - 7 weeks paid holiday

Who pays for my flights? - 3 free return economy flights to UK are included – in addition to deployment and final return flights

What about healthcare? - Full healthcare and medical and travel insurance will be included. This will not cover dental care.

Who pays for my accommodation? - All accommodation, food, laundry, soft drinks and transport is included

Where and what is the accommodation? - You will have your own room in a shared villa in Al Ain town centre. This is a large University town in the UAE with its own International airport close to the border with Oman and about 90 minutes away from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai

What facilities will there be? - The villa will have Satellite TV, broadband, catering either by in-house staff or outsourced caterers, maid and villa staff services, laundry, swimming pool, gym and tennis courts.

Where is the Training and Assessment Centre? - This is a brand new purpose built centre in a compound 15 minutes from your accommodation. It will house the participants on site on a weekly basis. It will have state of the art training facilities in fully air-conditioned lecture rooms and training areas. It will also house recreational facilities and eating areas for the assessors and civil servants.

On what criteria will the assessments be based? - The assessments will be based on 10 competencies to identify the level of leadership ability within the ADCS. 

What are the objectives of the programme –

Ø To provide ADCS staff with an opportunity to display their true leadership ability in a non-threatening yet challenging environment by removing the boundaries necessarily imposed in the normal workplace.

Ø Within the context of this analysis to provide ADCS staff with individual feedback and start work on Individual Professional Development Plans.

Ø Extend the analysis to identify collective areas of weakness and address these through development workshops.

Ø Provide ADCS management and candidates with written reports

Ø To make suggestions with regard to possible further leadership development programmes

Who will I report to? - There will be 2 Project Managers permanently on site, one of whom will be employed by IDG and will act as your mentor and first port of call.

How many assessors are there? - There will be a minimum of 10 assessors on site delivering to 50 civil servants each week. There will also be a data clerk with his own team to assimilate and collate the assessment information on site during the training week

What qualifications do I need? - Specifically you will need British Psychological Society Level A and B. Training for this, at our expense, will be undertaken at our facilities at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, This will take place over an intensive 3 week training course to commence September 22nd. Full board, travel and lodgings will be included. Full training of IDG’s Assessment approach will also be included in the final week

What will my workload be? - 5 days a week – 8am to 5.pm Sunday to Thursday. Your weekends are free

How long will the contract last? - Initially 12 months commencing November 2nd 2008. Contracts may be extended
