Company overview

As electrical training specialists, we provide a full range of City & Guilds qualifications, apprentice training, the AM2 test and bespoke courses designed especially for our customers. There’s something for everyone, from absolute beginners to time-served electricians.

For over 10 years we’ve been welcoming delegates to our purpose-built training centre in Gloucester, where highly experienced staff use the latest techniques and technology to make sure everyone gets the most out of their training. Courses can also be provided at customers’ premises if required.

In 2008, the Government awarded us the Training Quality Standard – a national kitemark held only by training providers that are genuinely highly responsive to the needs of employers.

What’s more, our links with electrical contractor Clarkson Evans Limited mean we’re never out of touch with the very latest industry developments.

Course title

Intensive Electrical Course (4 weeks)

Course description

This four-week intensive course has been designed to provide electrical knowledge and skills for those wishing to begin a new career in the electrical industry.

With a mixture of theory and practical training you will learn all the essentials you need to get started.

Topics include:

  • Portable appliance testing
  • 17th edition wiring regulations
  • Certificate for domestic electrical installers (Part P)
  • Dangers of electricity
  • Introduction to testing
  • Lighting systems
  • Introduction to intruder alarms
  • Heating systems

Next steps
 
Those with suitable experience can register on a Part P Competent Person Self Certification scheme.  This would enable you to self-certify your work without the need of the local authority building control.
 
On completion of the course we recommend gaining further on-site experience by working with a qualified electrician.

During the course candidates will be given the opportunity to achieve the following industry-recognised qualifications:

  • City & Guilds 2377-12 Portable Appliance Testing
  • City & Guilds 2382-10 17th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • EAL Certificate for Domestic Electrical Installers (Part P)
